JioFiber won first place in India’s fixed broadband speed rankings in Q4 2020, according to Ookla’s latest Speedtest Consumer Sentiment data report. India also topped the Ookla charts in the fastest cable broadband Internet speeds among SAARC countries, but is lagging behind in the section for mobile Internet speeds. The report revealed that Vodafone Idea (Vi) dominated the mobile internet speed chart in the fourth quarter.
JioFiber offered the highest broadband speed to its users. Jio had the highest rating with 3.7 stars and a positive Net Promoter Score (NPS). The graph published by Ookla shows that JioFiber offers an average download speed of around 80 Mbps. ACT ranked second in download speed over fixed broadband and achieved a speed of around 75 Mbps, according to the graph. .
Airtel Xstream Fiber ranked third with the third highest NPS. Both ACT and Excitel had the same star rating, but ACT had a higher NPS.
BSNL offered the slowest average download speed (Mbps) over fixed broadband. Hathway had the lowest rating and the lowest NPS. Jio, BSNL and Airtel offer fixed line broadband service at Pan-India level. ACT, Excitel and Hathway are fixed broadband ISPs serving some key cities and subways in India.
Vi also emerged as the fastest mobile network in India. The graph shows that Vi offered an average download speed of more than 15 Mbps. Airtel came in second with an average speed of around 14 Mbps. Reliance Jio is in third place for performance, ratings and NPS. Jio offered an average speed of around 10 Mbps to users.
“Vi led Airtel and Jio in NPS, but none of the vendor scores were positive, indicating that customers are not likely to recommend any of the vendors,” the report states.
