BARCELONA (Reuters) – Antivirus creator John McAfee, 75, was found dead in his Barcelona prison cell after the Spanish high court authorized his extradition to the United States, the Catalan justice department said, confirming a previous report of the newspaper El Mundo.

Everything indicates that it could be a suicide death, the department said in a statement.

The higher court had agreed to extradite him back to the United States, where he faces charges of tax evasion.
