John Mulani has officially filed for divorce from Anna Marie Tendler.
The 38-year-old comedian, best known for his work on Saturday Night Live, filed a lawsuit in New York City court on Friday (7/23/21), Entertainment Tonight reported.
It was previously revealed that the stand-up star was planning to divorce his wife after undergoing rehabilitation at the end of last year amid his fight against alcohol and drug abuse.
Anne Marie, 36, admitted she was heartbroken over their breakup. However, the artist also insisted that she would continue to support John.
She previously explained through a spokesperson, “I am heartbroken that John has decided to end our marriage. I wish him support and success in his continued recovery. “
John and Anne Marie tied the knot in 2014, but she recently moved out of the family home after confirming their breakup in May.
The artist, who has lived in Connecticut since the breakup, was spotted with a friend packing her belongings at John’s Los Angeles home. Then she made a solo trip along the Pacific coast.
Prior to that, the source claimed that their relationship experienced tremendous tension due to the coronavirus pandemic when John’s addiction problems resumed during isolation.
An insider explained, “His fans know that he has struggled with sobriety in the past, he has been open about it. Unfortunately, he struggled again during the pandemic.
“He is ready for recovery, he is not fighting rehab.”
After breaking up with Anna Marie, John began dating Hollywood star Olivia Mann, and it was recently revealed that the actress is “in love” with the comedian.
The source said, “Olivia and John are getting strong. She made her way to some of his shows and loves them. Olivia is so amazed. “
