Steve Harvey, Bernie Mac, DL Hughley and Cedric The Entertainer joined forces for the Kings of Comedy tour in 2000, but Katt Williams says he felt “crushed” when he saw Cedric’s closing joke.
In an interview with The morning hustle, Williams revealed that the joke Cedric told about having to park a large Cadillac spaceship was his.
“Well when it first happened to me, it just crushed me because the comedian was already bigger and more famous than me and took my closing joke and turned it into his closing joke on Kings of comedyWilliams said. “The reason it turned out so bad was because it was in the theater. I paid my money to go see Kings of comedy and seeing that my joke was there and not me was disrespectful in our craft and I took it very personally with Cedric The Entertainer at the time.
“Now, since then, I’ve done a lot of work on ten comedy specials. Either you have to write your own jokes or you are telling a variation of my joke, whether you recognize it or not. “Katt Williams added that as artists, you are either” originally creating or borrowing bits and pieces. ”
Williams did not address the situation. “I’m not that kind of comedian. I’m going to get into your mouth where the joke is when you steal my jokes, and I have a reputation in this industry that if you steal my joke, you’ll lose a tooth or two … I don’t play like that. “
