Keith Hill: Scunthorpe Names Former Rochdale, Barnsley & Bolton Manager | Football news

Scunthorpe has appointed Keith Hill as its new manager.

The former Rochdale, Barnsley and Bolton boss replaces Neil Cox, who was sacked on Monday with Scunthorpe last in League Two with two wins in 15 games.

Hill, who twice led Rochdale to promotion to the third division, was sacked as manager of Tranmere in May just before the League Two playoff semi-final against Morecambe.

The length of the contract that Hill, 52, signed at Glanford Park was not disclosed.

Scunthorpe will face Doncaster Rovers at home in the first round of the FA Cup on Saturday, before the same opponent’s visit to the EFL Trophy on Tuesday.

Hill’s first league game in charge will be at home to Salford City on 13 November.
