With the NBA trade deadline approaching, the Sacramento Kings are looking to ditch Marvin Bagley.
Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports reported Monday that the Kings have made the 22-year-old man available for trade. The report adds that Sacramento offered Bagley to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for promising rookie Saddiq Bey, but was turned down. Haynes also says both Bagley and the Kings are “interested” in ending their partnership.
Bagley hasn’t lived up to expectations in Sacramento, in large part because he was selected ahead of All-Stars Luka Doncic and Trae Young. Right now, Bagley just has to find a way to stay on the court. He has played just 112 games in his career, the third-lowest amount of any 2018 lottery pick, and 62 of them came in his rookie season.
While Bagley is not a scrub, a change of scenery could benefit him.
