Knotts Berry Farm saw a real life drama on Saturday night. A man somehow managed to scale a 300-foot metal tower near the park’s Supreme Scream ride.
Buena Park police responded to the amusement park and eventually managed to convince the man to step down from his position. It descended shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday.
Previously, the police warned customers to stay out of the area.
There was no immediate information on the identity of the climber or how he managed to scale the metal tower.
So far no charges have been filed and the man was taken to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.
The park released a statement about the incident.
“At approximately 7:23 pm, Knott’s Berry Farm realized that a man had entered an unauthorized area and climbed the Supreme Scream tower. Park staff alerted local police and emergency personnel now on site. The guest descended from the tower at 8:55 pm and is now safely on the ground in police custody. No further information is available at this time. The safety of our guests is always our top priority. “
Last weekend, the theme park was the scene of a shooting from a vehicle off its confines that left a teenager injured.
