It’s been five years since Lil Yachty was angered by his claim that Hip-Hop legends 2Pac and Notorious BIG were overrated and now he seems to be seeking attention once again in the same way! The rapper opened up about his statement at the time during an interview for Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.
That said, he insisted that he never wanted to disrespect legendary rappers and was instead ‘just being honest’.

He went on to argue that ‘he had no media training. All he knew was to be an honest person. Then someone asked me if it’s a hip-hop lesson guide. My cousin would be honest. I am going to tell the truth. I’m not like Biggie, Tupac, you’re going to say this every time, I didn’t hear them but I didn’t say they were garbage. ‘
That was about two months ago and now, he broached the whole thing once more while chatting with the HipHopDX host.

The 23-year-old was asked whether or not he gave Tupac and Biggie’s music another shot since the scandal that took place in 2016.

In April, Yachty spoke more about the amount of hate he received while still a teenager in 2016, for his honest opinion.
But despite the death threats and the general hatred and insults, the young rapper claims the backlash ended up helping him build his character.
