With vaccination requirements in place across the country, Live Nation has announced that the decision on vaccination status will depend on the artist performing at a concert.
Variety It reports that the largest concert promoter on the planet will allow the artists reserved for their venues to determine which fans can attend.
“We believe this is a great model and we have already successfully implemented it at many major trade shows, including Lollapalooza,” wrote CEO Michael Rapino in a memo. “We know that people are eager to get back to live events and we hope these measures will encourage more people to get vaccinated. That’s the first thing anyone can do to care for those around them, and we are encouraging as many programs as possible to adopt this model. “
Live Nation officials are targeting an Oct. 4 “flexible work” arrangement, and in that setting, will require vaccination for employees entering events, venues or offices with limited exceptions.
“Our business and our industry is about bringing people together, and vaccines are one of the best tools to make sure everyone can continue to enjoy live music together,” said Rapino. “We’ve been through a lot in the past year, and it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come.”
