Loki has a heartfelt conversation with Sylvie as they face the ending.

Loki’s solo adventure reached episode 4 in Disney Plus Wednesday, following God of Mischief knowing his Sylvie female variant after the couple escaped the clutches of the Time Variation Authority. The Marvel Cinematic Universe series is about him 2012 Loki who escaped the heroes in Avengers Endgame.

We left Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Sylvie (Sophia di martino) apparently trapped on the doomed moon of Lamentis in 2077, with a planet about to crash and the escape ship they had planned to hijack destroyed. Sylvie had also bombarded the Sacred Timeline, creating countless branches and forcing TVA to deal with the chronological chaos she had unleashed.

It’s time for hope in apocalyptic SPOILERS, with an episode titled The Nexus Event.

Beyond pruning

After discovering that the Guardians of Time are robots, Loki prepares to bare his soul to a distraught Sylvie. However, the moment is interrupted by TVA judge Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), who sneaks up on him and prunes Loki, seemingly erasing him from existence and leaving the show without its protagonist. I guess Sylvie will have to change her name. There’s also a crocodile with a cute Loki crown, awwww.

Boastful Loki, Kid Loki and Classic Loki

Loki, meet the swaggering Loki, Kid Loki and Classic Loki. Then the crocodile Loki.

Or do you want it? A post-credits scene sees Loki waking up in a ruined city and wondering aloud if he’s dead. He looks up to see a trio of new Loki variants, credited as Classic Loki (Richard E. Grant), Kid Loki (Jack Veal) and Boastful Loki (Deobia Oparei)

“Not yet,” says Classic Loki. “But you will be, unless you come with us.”

These three are inspired by some of Loki’s looks in the comics. Classic Loki is based on the character’s first appearances (such as the Avengers first issue) and Kid Loki is based on a version that was reborn as a child after his apparent death.

The boastful Loki isn’t that clear cut, but he’s wielding a hammer, so he’s probably based on a version of the character that’s worthy of lifting Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir. The one he has looks quite different from Mjolnir though, so he customized it a lot or faked it. Given its name, you will probably have a lot to say about it.

The crocodile appears to be an original character, but it will definitely be a popular stuffed toy. Snap snap.
