Megan Thee Stallion closed out the 2023 ESSENCE Festival of Culture™ presented by Coca-Cola® featuring a medley of hits ranging from her 2018 tub snow EP tracks until 2022 Traumazine.
After opening with “Her,” Meg spoke directly to the crowd of beauties who battled through traffic and blistering temperatures to watch her burn down the stage.

“You know I’m from Houston, but I love coming to New Orleans, I’m ready to eat, I’m ready to shake my ass, I’m ready to appear at the fucking Essence Festival.” !” Megan told the crowd at NOLA’s Caesars Superdome.

“Now ladies, are you all ready to bust your shit quick? Because it’s a hot girl fucking summer. We don’t give niggas no second chances, we feel ourselves, we love ourselves, and just to let you niggas know, we don’t need y’all, we want y’all but us. I don’t need all of them,” she added. “I love hot guys, but this is for the hot girls!”
In traditional Megan fashion, she also had a moment where she led fans onstage for a twerk session and three different groups of pie-girls cheered to “Do It On The Tip.”
In a surprise twist, self-proclaimed “free a** motherf***er” Janelle Monaé also took the stage fresh off her ESSENCE set and encouraged the girls to keep going.
Meg continued her show by counting to eight with her dancers while rapping “Freak Nasty,” “Simon Says,” “Megan’s Piano,” “Big Ole Freak,” and “Cry Baby.”
Meg’s performance came after a certain hitmaker who was “Made In Lagos” came on stage.
