Melissa gorgaThe worst date of her life was with her now husband, Joe gorga.
During a recent interview, the Real New Jersey Housewives The cast member spoke about not one, but two horrible dates he had with Joe before revealing why he finally decided to give the real estate developer another chance.
“[Maybe it was] my first date with Joe Gorga? I’m not sorry. It was my second date with Joe Gorga. ‘Why [on] The first date he had me at his house and he made me a fake dinner, we can include that too, ”said Melissa, 42. Us weekly of his worst date on August 1. “He put all the food in the pots and pans he ordered from the Italian restaurant down the street and swore he had cooked it all.”
According to Melissa, she knew that 41-year-old Joe was lying because his meal included the same dishes served at his local restaurant, but she appreciated the “effort” he put into dinner.
“[Then] “It was our second date,” she continued, “where he worked so hard that I was sitting there talking to him and he literally fell asleep.”
Recalling her visit to a “beautiful” restaurant, Melissa revealed that Joe, whom she finally married in 2004, took an impromptu nap.
“I was like, ‘Am I boring you? Or are you high? Like, did I know someone who does drugs? You are closing your eyes! I’m not used to boring people. What is hapening here? And he literally nodded as I talked to him on my second date, ”she recalled.
Fortunately, Joe had a decent excuse.
“He said, ‘No, I got up at 5:30 this morning. I’m tired. ‘I was like,’ Wow. I’ve never seen anyone nod their head before. That’s the first time, ‘”Melissa pointed out.
Despite her rocky start, Melissa continued to seek a relationship with Joe because she believed in his story.
“I just really liked him and I was really very tired,” he explained. “I was exhausted. I know your schedule. He works. To be honest, he still works like a dog. “
Although Melissa and Joe went through a series of difficult spots in their marriage in the middle of the eleventh season of RHONJ earlier this year, he recently confirmed that they are doing “much better.”
“I know we have been married for 16 years, but we are still learning each other. There are different tipping points, I would say, in marriages, ”he told Us Weekly in July. “Joe doesn’t like change very much and he likes things to stay the same. He likes to know that everything is going to be intact and that is probably what makes him a great husband. But for me, right now I am in favor of change. “
During their 16-year marriage, Melissa and Joe welcomed three children together, including 15-year-old Antonia, 14-year-old Gino, and 11-year-old Joey.
