MG Motor India has joined the variant line of its flagship SUV, the MG Gloster, with the launch of the 7-seat Savvy variant. Since its launch last year, the MG Gloster, in its high-spec Savvy form, was available only as a six-seater. However, with customers requesting the option to have a seven-seat option with the fully loaded variant, the company has now introduced the 7-seat MG Gloster Savvy, which swaps out the second-row captain’s chairs from the six-model. seats by a bench type seat. The 7-seater MG Gloster Savvy is priced at Rs 37.28 lakh, which is the same price as the 6-seater Savvy variant (before the showroom).
Aside from the change in seating arrangement, the 7-seater MG Gloster Savvy is no different from any other Gloster. Being the top-spec variant, the Savvy includes a host of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) along with all the other features available with the SUV, including a panoramic sunroof, a heated, ventilated power driver’s seat, and features. massage and memory, a 12-speaker audio system, 360-degree cameras, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and hands-free parking, among others.
The MG Gloster is available with two diesel engine options: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel that generates 163 hp and 375 Nm of torque; This unit is available only in the Super and Smart variants. The second option is a biturbo version of the same 2.0-liter diesel engine, which produces a substantial 218 hp and 480 Nm of torque. This engine is available only with the Sharp and Savvy variants, which also include an on-demand four-wheel drive system with selectable drive modes. An eight-speed automatic gearbox is standard for both engines.
In India, the MG Gloster competes with the Ford Endeavor, Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas G4 and Isuzu MU-X.
