Mophie’s Snap + Powerstation Stand is a multifunctional battery pack designed with your new one i phone in at least

This new 10,000mAh battery has several cool tricks that make it a useful accessory, including converting to a mount, magnetic connection, and even a tripod mount. More on these cool tricks in a moment, but first let’s talk about the main feature: the battery.

A premium solution

This battery falls into the premium tier of the Mophie range and borrows the aesthetics from its existing Snap + battery solutions.

It is wrapped in a gray canvas-like material with rubberized sides. There is a holder that rotates on the back and is held closed by a strong magnet. It requires good traction to exploit it freely. The zipper is sturdy enough, so it doesn’t move at all, open or closed.

USB-C input and output

With 10K capacity, that’s enough to charge an iPhone, which should get you through a weekend of average use, depending on the charging method. You can charge any device using the USB-C port, such as an iPhone or AirPods with a Lightning to the USB-C cable. You could also quickly reload the new one Apple Watch Series 7 with its supplied USB-C drive.

That USB-C port is also the input for the battery. There is no Qi input, which is fine as it can be frustratingly slow as an input for a high-capacity battery like this. USB-C, being nearly universal, is the ideal input here because there is only a single port, so it must be used for input and output. You can’t charge the battery via USB-C while also charging your iPhone via USB-C.

With the USB-C port on one side, there’s a single power button on the other side. It’s located next to a quartet of tiny LEDs that serve as typical battery capacity indicators. Each light represents approximately 25% charge. Two lights indicate that you have approximately 50% battery left.

Mophie has an ace up her sleeve

Plug in your phone and watch your Twitter feed

Besides USB-C, users have another option to turn on their devices. It would be through Qi. The Snap + PowerStation holder has a Qi wireless output, surrounded by a ring of magnets. This is compatible with iPhone 12 Other iPhone 13 that every support MagSafe, or any other Qi device with Mophie Snap Adapters.

MagSafe compatible magnets not only help when using this as a stand, but ensure proper alignment to achieve the most efficient charging.

Generally, we don’t like slapping Qi outputs on batteries. Qi is notoriously inefficient, and when you’re already limited to the capacity you carry with you, charging via Qi can quickly reduce maximum power usage. Qi is great with a dedicated dock or charger, but with a battery you have no power to spare.

MagSafe – that is official MagSafe – is theoretically more efficient than Qi, but that’s not it. We agree with the MagSafe here, however, as it is necessary for the look of the stand.

Use it as a stand for watching movies

Use it as a stand for watching movies

Using that magnetic holder, you can easily hold your phone like a mini dock, running Twitter feed, or to watch movies and TV more easily. Holds the phone at a great angle. Plus, this couldn’t be a better companion for air travel where you need to keep your battery charged, watch some videos, and don’t have a good place to set up your phone.

Take great photos with the tripod mount

Take a picture with Halide

My favorite trick though is for photography. This battery has a standard 1/4-inch-20 tripod socket. It can connect to any tripod to take photos, record videos, and take selfies you might not otherwise get You can connect it to a tripod, join a group and activate your iPhone using the Camera companion app on Apple watch.

Should you buy the Mophie Snap + PowerStation holder?

Few batteries enclose this range. We have MagSafe mount, a built-in mount, solid 10K battery capacity, tripod threads, and USB-C.

It’s not the smallest battery, especially in the 10K mAh range, but there are enough features here to make it a perfect travel battery, or even just a desk stand that can come with you when needed.

The tripod mount is great

We love the integrated tripod

We love the tripod mount and applaud Mophie for doing something a little different with some solid features and good build quality.

  • MagSafe compatible Qi charger
  • Soft canvas finish
  • Sturdy built-in stand
  • USB-C input / output
  • Tripod holder
  • Qi charging is not that efficient and wastes energy
  • Great for capacity
  • No real MagSafe charging
