The NFL and the NFL Players Association have updated COVID-19 protocols to relax restrictions for fully vaccinated players and to encourage others to get vaccinated.
Unvaccinated players should continue to undergo daily testing, wear masks, and practice physical distancing. They will not be allowed to eat with their teammates, they will not be able to participate in marketing or media activities while traveling, they will not be able to use the sauna or steam room and they will not be able to leave the team hotel or interact with non-team people while Travel.
Vaccinated players will have neither of those restrictions, according to a memo sent to teams Wednesday that was obtained by The Associated Press.
Media access to the press box, field and guidelines, locker room, and post-game interview room will be available only to members of the media who are fully vaccinated.
Several players have expressed concern about receiving the vaccine. Updated protocols give them more incentive to do so.
