Yesterday was a rough day for iPhone owners who enjoy their time on Snapchat. Users found that Snapchat would not work after downloading the latest update from the App Store. There was no workaround or solution in sight. But don’t panic, because Snapchat is back!
Snapchat announced that the problem was fixed in a tweet, but it will need to download another new update to get everything working again. However, Snapchat promises that this one will work!
Snapchat wasn’t particularly forthcoming in the release notes, but a simple “bug fix” will have to suffice.
The previous update, version 220.127.116.11, caused the app to crash at launch, which obviously put a brake on procedures for people interested in sharing photos of their outfits and lunches, or whatever people do. with Snapchat these days. It’s unclear exactly what went wrong with the previous update or why it wasn’t detected by Snapchat’s own beta and testing process, but it’s not the first time an app update has broken things completely and it won’t be the one. lastly, neither.
Perhaps this is a lesson for smaller developers who think that big teams don’t have problems like this, even the best iPhone apps and development teams can cause things to go wrong when you least expect it!
