It’s been a big few weeks for pop music and now that the madness of Glastonbury 2023 has passed, music lovers are going back to their trusty playlists to beat this British sunshine.
Meanwhile, many are tentatively making plans to see Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour in the UK next summer and are crossing all their fingers and toes for a couple of tickets when sales begin.
Away from live music, in recent weeks Maisie Peters has released her long-awaited album The Good Witch, Little Mix star Leigh-Anne debuted with ‘Don’t Say Love’ and everyone has caught the fever of ‘ Padam Padam’.
With so much going on, you may have missed finding your new favorite artists or tunes.
CelebMix is out with eight tracks from the month of June that you may have missed and certainly shouldn’t have.
‘W4NNA DO’ – Thomas Headon
TikTok King Thomas Headon has quirky lyrics and catchy cracks for days. This was released on Monday night as it received the hottest record treatment from Clara Amfo on Radio 1 and is part of an upcoming funky and fresh sounding six track EP.
‘Out of the world’ – twist
Transcendent is the only word to describe twst’s latest single, ‘Off-World’. The soaring, effervescent electropop hit sees the star seek liberation from the machine. It’s a must-listen and a sure hit for fans of his previous releases.
Cole Hallman rose to fame last year on American Idol and is now preparing a debut album. ‘Cleo’ is the lead single from that record and is a statement of what makes American so exciting. There’s a real country feel and the track is dripping with an endearing authenticity. Get the record, Cole.
‘I Like You’ (ELIO Remix) – Tove Lo, ELIO
You’ll already be familiar with Tove Lo’s new single ‘i like u’; if you’re not, you’re missing out. ELIO jumps on the remix to make what’s already good even better. The worlds of Tove Lo and ELIO sound great when combined and form a dance floor filler.
‘pick up the phone’ – Henry Moodie
It’s no secret that we’re huge fans of Henry Moodie here at CelebMix. One of our Ones to Watch for 2023, ‘grab the phone’ is the rising star’s best yet. An anthemic ditty that feels like a warm hug, the hype around this young man is real.
‘Empire’ – Lucy Spraggan
Lucy Spraggan is in for big, big things this year. The singer/songwriter has her long-awaited book on the way and there’s a new record in the works. BALANCE also. The star speaks from the heart and ‘Empire’ is a The Greatest Showman-inspired ode to his journey of recent years. Not a dry eye in sight here.
‘Pretty Devil’ – Alessandra
Fresh from representing Norway at Eurovision, Alessandra has released her new single ‘Pretty Devil’. If you were a fan of ‘Queen of Kings’, you’ll also love this gloriously catchy single that has all the signs of a star about to take off after Eurovision stardom.
‘Dream Girl’ – Baby Queen
It’s been a hot minute since we got any new Baby Queen music. The star’s first release of 2023 picks up where he left off with some indie-pop goodness. We think this is just the beginning of a series of releases and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year holds for the rising star.
