English Premier League team Wolverhampton Wanderers recently announced their new partnership with British premium sportswear brand Castore, becoming the club’s new on-pitch partner.
The fast-growing sportswear brand, which also has Andy Murray as one of its shareholders, has made its first partnership with a Premier League club. Under the multi-year agreement, which is also the largest technical partner sponsorship in the club’s history, the emerging sportswear brand will manufacture all on-field play equipment and sideline clothing, and its goal is to facilitate a much wider range of products. that has ever been available to team supporters. Meanwhile, Wolves will manufacture and distribute a wide range of replicas under license from Castore.
As part of the agreement, Castore will also present a Pro Performance collection, the first of its kind, to be worn by the first team in all competitions, which will be available in stores. The collection will be made from a unique technical fabric developed exclusively by Castore, which the brand believes is lighter, more flexible and more durable than anything a Wolves team has worn before.
“This is truly a groundbreaking deal in the Premier League, challenging the established order of things, and we are delighted to have found a progressive and disruptive partner in Castore to embark on this journey with us.” spoke with the Lobos’ general manager of business operations, Vinny Clark, about the collaboration.
The long-term partnership is said to run from the 2021/22 campaign, which will replace Adidas as the technical partner of the top-tier club. Although the financial terms of the deal have yet to be made public, it is believed to be more than Adidas was reportedly paying £ 3 million (US $ 4.3 million) a year.
The Wolves deal is the second major soccer uniform partnership for the Liverpool-based clothing line, having previously reached a five-year deal in May 2020 with Scottish Rangers. It was recently reported that they are also looking to sign a deal with another Premier League club, Newcastle United.
