Racist ‘Great Replacement’ Conspiracy Theorist Stars in Ad by NRSC and Nevada’s Adam Laxalt

Immigrant rights advocacy group America’s Voice said that the joint Laxalt-NRSC announcement “is based on a series of oft-repeated lies by the Republican Party, including around the issue of ‘deadly opiates’ like fentanyl and the falsehood that President Biden and the Democrats have introduced open borders.”

That last part is a particularly audacious lie from Laxalt, who has loudly defended the discredited Title 42 policy that continues to be used to quickly deport many asylum seekers in violation of their rights. The Biden administration sought to end this policy in May and return the asylum system to the way it was before Stephen Miller gave it a thumbs-down in the spring of 2020. But Republicans went to court to block the president.

“While ‘deadly opiates’ like fentanyl are a deadly serious issue facing Nevada and the country, the Laxalt ad and most Republican ads on the subject move resoundingly forward in their political exploitation of the problem,” said America’s Voice . “It’s yet another attempt by Republicans to distract from the issues that are hurting them, like abortion and gun access, with racist scare tactics around crime and immigrants in the midterm home stretch.” .

Notably, Border Patrol union president Brandon Judd makes an appearance in the ad, he of “great replacement” racist conspiracy theory fame. Judd, an active border agent, seems to have plenty of time for Republican politicking, earlier this year he appeared in a vile ad in which failed candidate Jim Lamon shot an actor playing the president. Lamon then reveled in the outrage that followed.

So Nevada isn’t even on the border? America’s Voice notes that it is “not surprising” that Laxalt and Judd appear to be friends. The former Republican attorney general last year reclaimed that “the left wants to radically transform this nation and wants to destroy the values that made this country a great nation.” This, folks, is replacement theory bullshit.

“Adam Laxalt and Republicans across the country are intentionally spreading lies and dangerous misinformation that dehumanizes people and creates the conditions for racist political violence,” said America’s Voice Political Director Zachary Mueller. “Yes, there are serious and urgent challenges around fentanyl. Yes, there are important discussions about managing the border in a safe, orderly and humane manner. But we need solutions, not scapegoats or ugly attempts by those peddling white nationalist conspiracies to distract fearful voters late in the campaign.”

The Nevada Independent reported in June that Laxalt had called earlier that month Roe vs. Wadea joke”, “a total and complete fabrication” and that “his return to the United States is important”. Laxalt has reclaimed in an August op-ed not supporting a federal ban, but during June comments he said, “We’re not a pro-life state, and we have work to do on that.”

Peter Thiel’s stooge, Blake Masters, also wants to talk about immigrants instead of his extreme stance on abortion. going so far as to falsely claim that Arizona Senator Mark Kelly is in Arizonapersonally responsible for the worst border crisis our state and nation have ever seen.” personally responsible! But like Laura Clawson from Daily Kos Recently reportedMasters removed “her very well-documented positions” on abortion from her website after securing his party’s nomination last month. “For example, the Masters website no longer says: ‘I’m 100% pro-life,’” Clawson wrote.
