Rapper Fetty Wap’s daughter tragically died at the young age of four.
It was the musician’s ex-girlfriend, Turquoise Miami, who announced the sad news on Instagram, telling fans that her daughter, Lauren Maxwell, has sadly passed away.
“This is my amazing, beautiful, fun, vibrant, loving, talented, intelligent and headstrong Mermaid Princess Aquarius,” wrote Turquoise. “If you see this post scrolling with their comment or you just say to yourself ‘I love you LAUREN’ because they say souls can feel your love # rip💔”.
Although Turquoise did not reveal the cause of Lauren’s death, the New York City radio station Hot 97 reports that she had been ill for a month and died in her sleep.
Fetty Wap, whose real name is Junior Maxwell II, also posted an Instagram story Sunday after his performance at Miami’s Rolling Loud music.
“LoLo daddy did that for you last night girl,” the 30-year-old wrote, along with a butterfly, dove and heart emoji.
Making matters worse are the apparent criticisms Fetty has received for his paternity. So Turquoise was quick to defend the rapper on Instagram.
“The internet had a very negative energy towards our son, which caused me distress while reading, so please stop any negativity towards him,” she wrote. “Lauren loves her dad too like she loves me and he is in mourning just like me.”
Fetty, known for hits like ‘Trap Queen’ and ‘My Way,’ has a total of six children from five different mothers and loves all of his children.
“Pieces of my heart ❤️ … They are about anything or someone 👑”, he wrote in June during Father’s Day in the United States.
