Razer’s new soundbar works with USB-C and Bluetooth, costs $100

Razer on Tuesday announced a soundbar that it says is suitable for movies, music and games, while also being able to connect to computers, iPhones and Android phones. It measures 15.7 inches (400 mm) long, the Leviathan V2 X it’s meant to slide under desktop monitors and is a cheaper, less powerful version of Razer $250 Leviathan V2which includes a sound bar and a subwoofer.

According to Razer, the Leviathan V2 X can reach 90 dB from a distance of 3.3 feet (1 meter). The gaming and PC peripheral maker also claims a frequency response of 85-20,000 Hz, which is a bit high on the low end. By comparison, the more expensive Leviathan V2, which includes passive radiator, tweeter, and full-range drivers, plus a subwoofer and THX Spatial Audio, claims 45–20,000 Hz.

The new Leviathan V2 X isn’t designed for as beefy audio as its sibling, but it packs two full-range racetrack drivers measuring 2 × 2.0 × 4.0 inches (2 × 48 × 95 mm) and a pair of passive radiators measuring 2 × 2.0 × 4.1 inches (2 × 48 × 105 mm).

Razer’s soundbar is powered via USB-C and can be connected via Bluetooth 5.0. Works with iPhones and Android phones via the audio razer app, which also offers control over the soundbar’s 10-band equalizer and lighting effects. Additionally, you can use Razer’s Synapse desktop app to set up a secondary playback device, allowing you to switch between PC and smartphone audio by pressing a dedicated button on top of the soundbar.

Like most Razer products, the Leviathan V2 X has optional RGB lighting. There are 14 individual zones for different effects, including reacting to what’s happening in compatible PC games and synchronizing with other RGB-loaded Razer products.

The Leviathan V2 X it’s $100 and begins shipping on September 28. While audiophiles will want to look for more premium audio solutions, the Leviathan V2 X is a more affordable option for users who want an easy way to add some extra flair to their computer audio with a device that can also play well with phones. .
