Reid panics over third party group, could elect Trump, end of democracy! – News Block

On the Thursday night edition of MSNBC’s The Reid Out, host Joy Reid opened the show in a panic about the centrist group “No Labels” and the news that they are laying the groundwork to run a centrist third-party ticket in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. This apparently scared Reid , who lashed out and spread fear about what will happen if No Labels manages to take enough votes from President Joe Biden in the November election and re-elects Donald Trump. As you can imagine, it was a completely unhinged prediction of the “end of democracy” in the United States.

“They have been openly flirting with recruiting moderate Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, who also happens to be co-chair. He has not said if he will run for president as a centrist,” Reid said angrily.

Reid observed that “Democrats are not enthused, you can imagine, with this prospect, because the data shows that introducing a no-label candidate diverts votes away from Biden and could lead to a Trump victory.”

Which, according to Reid, “could literally usher in the demise of American democracy.”

Not only the end of democracy according to her. A potential second Trump administration would be “ready to end abortion access nationwide, prosecute political enemies, arrest the homeless and execute drug dealers. A prospect that rightly scared people.” .

What Reid doesn’t understand is that third-party offers traditionally hurt Republicans just as much as Democrats, if not more. In 1992, independent presidential candidate Ross Perot was widely believed to have cost Republican President George HW Bush a second term against pervert Bill Clinton.

It can go back as far as 1912, when Teddy Roosevelt ran as a third-party candidate against his handpicked successor, William Howard Taft. The two ended up splitting the Republican vote and allowed the racist leftist Woodrow Wilson to be elected.

JOY REID: They’ve been openly flirting with the recruitment of moderate Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, who also happens to be co-chair. He has not said whether he will run for president as a centrist. Democrats are not thrilled, you can imagine, with this prospect, because data shows that introducing a no-label candidate diverts votes away from Biden and could lead to a Trump victory. Which could literally usher in the demise of American democracy, with an administration poised to end abortion access nationwide, prosecute political enemies, detain the homeless, and execute drug dealers. A prospect that legitimately freaked people out.
