At the beginning of the courtship process, partners should have an escort present at their appointments. The patriarch also warned his sons to be on the lookout for his text messages while courting, as he and Michelle are involved in all of their chats. Having Jim Bob and Michelle as examples of a happy marriage has set the Duggars high standards when it comes to their love lives, and their parents don’t care.
“There is no failed courtship,” Michelle explained in 2014. “A father who loves and cares about his children wants the best relationship for his son. It’s fun to be in the whole process of choosing him. “
