According to an extensive analysis conducted by Avant Analytics, a research arm of IT distribution company Avant, 90% of IT leaders said they were at least likely to incrementally introduce edge of the secure access service (SASE) in their current framework in 2021.

As IT leaders seek to equip their infrastructure with solutions that best suit them, many see SASE as a promising new technology. The vast majority of IT leaders know this SASE is a worthwhile investment and a good solution to adopt within their current framework, but only just over a third of respondents are currently implementing it. Avant Analytics’ comprehensive analysis demonstrates the current landscape of SASE solutions and how C-suite distributors, developers and executives see their plans to introduce the technology.

Among the main reasons the leaders in this space haven’t jumped on their plans to implement SASE is because they need the right infrastructure and consultants to correctly adopt the solution.

Infographic. 46% plan the incremental migration of SASE. 44% said there are likely to be incremental migrations. 5% said incremental migrations are not likely. 5% said there are no incremental migrations of SASE planned. Although 67% of IT industry leaders said advanced security was their most important goal, only 35% started implementing SASE in their networks, possibly due to the need for technology expertise. The report shows that 76% of SASE customers turn to trusted consultants to provide educational assistance for SASE. These highly trained experts can provide personalized and in-depth knowledge to introduce SASE into a framework.

Ultimately, as services move deeper into the cloud-native infrastructure and need networking and assurance of security at the source of data collection, SASE will begin to grow in popularity. Security is already a burning issue for every CIO and cybersecurity manager in every company, which is why the market is expected to increase in value over the next few years.
