Capcom has kicked off the 25th anniversary celebrations of the demonic resident franchise by announcing that the package with Resident Evil Village, the multiplayer PvP game Resident Evil RE: Verses, it will have an open beta version for consoles and PC in April.
Announced via Capcom’s Official Biohazard Twitter, the beta will run from April 8 at 2 a.m. ET to April 11 at 2 a.m. ET for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series, with the preload starting April 5 at 8 p.m. ET. You will need to have a Capcom ID linked to your hardware before playing. Those who previously downloaded the game during its closed beta testing will not have to download it again.
The main purpose of the test (according to the ad page) is to check the server load as well as any balance issues with the game itself. Any issues that crop up during testing will potentially cause the server to shut down for maintenance, so don’t be surprised if everyone flooding the server to play causes some downtime.
Resident Evil RE: Verses launches next to Resident Evil Village in May 7 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series.
