Calvin Ridley is now No. 1 after Julio Jones was traded to the Tennessee Titans. However, he is not in the field for minicamp.
According to ESPN’s Jeff Schultz, Ridley underwent minor surgery on his foot after a persistent problem beginning in 2020. He may miss the start of training camp.
With Jones injured for much of the 2020 season, Ridley emerged as Atlanta’s top receiver. The 26-year-old caught 90 passes for a total of 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns.
The Falcons hope Ridley and rookie tight end Kyle Pitts can fill the void left by Jones.
