Russell crowe has opened up about its plans for a bespoke film production facility to be located in Coffs Harbor, a town on the north coast of New South Wales.
Talking with 2GB radio announcer Ben fordham This morning, the 57-year-old actor said his production facility “will certainly change the way people view Coffs Harbor forever.”

The film studio will be built at the Pacific Bay Resort and will be accompanied by a Regional Workplace of the Government of New South Wales.
The Thor: love and thunder Star said that major studios in Australian cities are currently booked, so it is trying to create “a slightly more personalized facility” to support local independent films that would otherwise have nowhere else to go.
“The point is that the big studios … what [Fox Studios] what has become now Disney and Disney is Wonderful and they say they will probably be busy on that study for the next 20 years, “Crowe said.

“[Warner Bros. Pictures] on the Costa Dorada, you know, [they] control [DC Comics] for that place to be reserved. Melbourne’s major studios are the same, Adelaide’s major studios are the same. “
“So we’re not trying to compete for the biggest movies, but if you have an independent film with a $ 10 million budget or even a $ 100 million budget, our studio facilities are the kind of studio facilities. what would you be looking for, “the gladiator said the star.
Crowe said Australian independent films are important to show “our skills to the world.”

“We just have to be careful with the general art infrastructure for cinema in this country so as not to exclude those smaller films.
“They are the smallest independents like [Crocodile Dundee films] and the [Stork (1971) film] And the movies that I’ve been involved in like Proof  other Romper stomper  and stuff like that, that really brings our skill set out into the world, so that’s what this production facility is all about. ” An amazing mind said the actor.
The Noah Star also emphasized how the studio, whose current campus is fully funded by Crowe himself, with the New South Wales state government helping only with the infrastructure surrounding the development of the studio, will create jobs not just for the actors.

“[Film is] It’s not just about actors, producers, directors and videographers, it’s about makeup, hairstyling, costumes, prop masters, electricians, taps, plumbers and caterers, “he said.
“It covers so many different professions.”
Fordham jokingly pointed out that the new studio won’t be too far from Crowe’s farm in Nana Glen, asking, “Is it more about cutting down on your commute?”
“It’s 100 percent [about that]. I can’t lie about that, “Crowe responded in good faith, also saying it would allow him to have a better work-life balance.

Going back to the more serious side of things, Crowe said the federal, state and local governments can see the opportunity the new film studio provides.
“As long as everyone stays on the same page and works toward the same goal, which is to create opportunities for young people growing up in the North Shore area, then we will be good,” Crowe said.
While he already has a few movies lined up that he wants to work on in his new production facility, particularly emphasizing stories about the local area, he remained tight-lipped as to what exactly those projects are.

Crowe, however, was happy to chat about his fellow Australian actors. Nicole Kidman other Chris Hemsworth, the last of which Crowe just finished filming the latest Thor installment with.
“Nicki [Kidman] and every now and then I get together and chat a little about [Aussie stars dominating Hollywood] because we remember the days when we were in Los Angeles and it was … kind of weird to hear an Australian accent, “Crowe said.
“Somewhere along the line a definitive bridge was built by the people who took the adventure to go [to the United States] and that bridge is very direct.

“People like Chris [Hemsworth] They’ve come straight out of the Australian production landscape and into the big movies, so it’s kind of amazing to have been a part of that for sure. “
Crowe’s next movie Poker face goes into production in New South Wales in July.
