As soon as summer is over, I switch my skin regimen to something that aims to repair and hydrate from all sun exposure. I have my usual suspects, but this time I tested something new and I have to say I found my life sentences, courtesy of True botanists.
If you’re in the US, you probably know what the brand is about, but they recently made their way to Canada (finally) via the detox market and I have to say I was so excited to see if they were as legitimate as everyone says. Folks, the hype is real. This shit is the shit. I’ve tried a handful of things in the line, but the two standout ones, no doubt, are RENEW Chebula Active Immunity Serum and RENEW Pure Radiance Oil.
Let’s start with the chebula serum first and what the hell it is. Chebula is an Ayurvedic fruit and is actually one of the most bioactive and potent antioxidants in nature that blasts other ingredients like acai and resveratrol out of the water. Leaves skin nourished, hydrated and truly improves skin quality. It is basically a powerful anti-aging.
I use half a vial of the serum, give it a second to absorb and then follow with the radiant oil. This oil is probably what True Botanicals is best known for and something Olivia Wilde attributes to her watermelon-sugar complexion. In fact, Olivia is so fanatic of the entire line that she is now the Chief Brand Partner of True Botanicals. And I have to agree with Olivia because this oil is the best I’ve ever tried – it’s luxurious, it penetrates right into the skin and leaves my face swollen and dewy. I always worry that one day I will look in the mirror and see an apple doll face, but now that I have these two products in my back pocket, I feel less paralyzed from the whole ordeal. Now these products aren’t a cheap deal, but you pay for what you get, and I have to say a little goes a long way. I’ve been using them for about six weeks and still have a long way to go with each bottle.
