Severance Season 2 finally has a release date, but we’ll have to wait until 2025

Must Read

If you were hoping for the second season of Breaking off would arrive at the end of this year, unfortunately you are out of luck.

Apple has confirmed that the second season of the highly-anticipated thriller series will premiere on Apple TV+ on January 17, 2025. The release date was revealed in a new trailer:

In it, we get a brief glimpse of returning characters Mark (Adam Scott), Dylan (Zach Cherry), Helly (Britt Lower), Irving (John Turturro), with a new character ominously telling them “you should have left.” The first season, which concluded in April 2022, left us in suspense, so there has been particular excitement for this continuation of the story.

Part of the reason for this long development period is due to a supposedly “toxic” work environment where some of the head writers, Dan Erickson and Mark Friedman, were supposedly constantly at odds and director Ben Stiller had to step in. This also reportedly led to script problems and an ever-increasing budget.

Hopefully, Season 2 manages to be a worthy continuation of one of Apple TV+’s best seasons of television.
