SHOCK: ABC’s Karl confronts Dem over alleged interference in Hunter Probe – News Block

in ABC This weekCo-moderator Jonathan Karl committed a random journalistic act Sunday during an interview with California Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna in which he actually asked him about the bombing IRS whistleblower report alleging that the US attorney for the district of Delaware David Weiss was constantly paralyzed during his tenure. investigation of President Joe Biden’s drug-addicted son, Hunter Biden, on various tax charges.

The shocking moment in real journalism came after a half hour of meowing from Karl about three blockbuster Supreme Court decisions ranging from upholding religious liberty to striking down the institutional racism of Affirmative Action.

“Republicans in the House have released testimony from this IRS whistleblower who suggests, saying he has evidence that, in fact, the claim that decisions are made by the federal attorney in Delaware and not the attorney general is not true, Karl said before asking, “Are you worried about what comes out of this case?”

Khanna, of course, denied being concerned and completely misrepresented the facts of the situation to fit his party’s false narrative. He first claimed that former President Donald Trump appointed Weiss. While that is technically true, Trump did so in error at the request of the Democratic congressional delegation in Delaware, and that Weiss was originally an acting federal prosecutor under then-President Barack Obama.

Karl then responded to Khanna’s denials: “What the whistleblower is saying is that Weiss, who was a Trump appointee, said that he was not the deciding official in this case.”

“If that turns out to be true, doesn’t it directly contradict what the Attorney General has said?”

Khanna responded by deflecting, “If Weiss was saying that, he would have a concern. If Weiss was out there saying, I didn’t have full authority, there was interference, but Weiss is the key person and he’s not saying that. There were charges that were charges that were pursued.”

While Karl didn’t push back on Khanna’s misinformation, he does at least get credit for bringing up the topic and forcing him to respond.

JONATHAN KARL: And Congressman, I want to ask you about the latest developments in the Hunter Biden case. As you know, the House has–Republicans in the House have released testimony from this IRS whistleblower suggesting, saying they have evidence that, in fact, the claim that decisions are made by the US Attorney in Delaware and not by the The Attorney General is not true, that ultimately it was the Attorney General, the main judge who decided this. Is that… you’re worried about what’s coming out of this case?

REP. RO KHANNA (B-CA): Jon, no. I mean, let’s go over the facts here. He had President Trump appoint a federal prosecutor in Delaware, and President Biden had the ability to fire that federal prosecutor if he wanted, as is customary. The new president comes in, they remove the US prosecutors. President Biden did not fire the federal prosecutor. He made the appointee of his previous opponent full power to make a decision on Hunter Biden.

KARL: But sir, what the whistleblower is saying is that Weiss, who was a Trump appointee, said that he was not the deciding official in this case. If that turns out to be true, doesn’t it directly contradict what the Attorney General has said?

KHANNA: But Weiss isn’t saying that. Isn’t that the Weiss font? I mean, if Weiss was saying that, he would have a concern. If Weiss was out there saying, I didn’t have full authority, there was interference, but Weiss is the key person and he’s not saying that. There were charges that were charges that were pursued.
