Today we share some simple neck stretches that can be done throughout the day to ease any pain or discomfort. These stretches help the neck muscles to become more flexible and strong. Relieving neck problems also helps prevent upper back, shoulder, and arm problems.

How to do the different stretches?
* Sit in vajrasana with a straight back. Bend your neck to the sides with the help of your hand. Repeat on the other side. This helps exercise stiff muscles and provides flexibility, which helps prevent neck pain.
* Sit in vajrasana or stand up straight. Gently push your head back. Then gently pull the head down. Hold these poses for 15 to 30 seconds each to take pressure off tired neck muscles.
* Grab the wrist from behind and gently stretch the neck. Feel the stretch in your wrists that would help your shoulders open up and lead to a instant energy boost.
* Garudasana or the arms in the eagle position, where the palms wrap around each other while crossing at the wrists, is said to be an effective exercise to get rid of neck tension. Helps improve your sense of balance while stretching the upper back and shoulders.

These simple stretches can be done while sitting on your couch and can be practiced at regular intervals throughout the day. Doing so will also make you feel energetic and help you improve your concentration while relieving tense muscles.
