Building on the success of their partnership last year, leading mobile service provider Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) once again supports McDonald’s Philippines in its initiative to transform 250 unused party rooms in select branches into McDonald’s classrooms – safe spaces and peace of mind where teachers and students can conduct their virtual lessons and meet their online learning needs.

To ensure they can connect to the fast and reliable internet for their e-learning, Smart has delivered Smart Bro Prepaid Pocket WiFi Advance Kits for use in all participating McDonald’s classrooms across the country. This year’s program also adds another 200 branches to last year’s figure to cater to more users.

Powered by Smart Bro Prepaid Pocket WiFi Advance, teachers and students can enjoy twice the speed of regular Pocket WiFi LTE devices thanks to a feature called Carrier Aggregation, which allows the device to combine multiple signals from different cellular sites for much faster service and reliable connection. The device also connects up to 10 WiFi-enabled devices for easier sharing and worry-free browsing between multiple users.

Extended until December 3rd

Started last October 11, McDonald’s Classrooms will run until December 3 to cater to fully vaccinated teachers and students aged 18 and over.

To ensure the safety of users, only two teachers or students can use the free service in two available time slots: from 8:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 17:00 from Monday to Friday. Each user must also book a slot at the participating branches. To learn more about McDonald’s Classrooms guidelines, visit https://mcdonalds.com.ph/mcdoclassroom.

“We are grateful to Smart for their continued support of our McDonald’s Classroom initiative. Through Smart’s provision of Pocket WiFi, we are able to better serve and equip teachers and students with their distance learning, “said Oliver Rabatan, Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Channels, McDonald’s Philippines.

“We are honored to continue our partnership with McDonald’s Philippines in this initiative to create favorable spaces for teachers and students. This is just one of the many community programs we have been happy to support, especially in these difficult times for educators and students. As we move to a hybrid work and learning setup, we will continue to look for other ways to provide Filipinos with world-class connectivity to power their daily activities at work or school, “said Jane J. Basas, SVP and Head of Consumer Wireless Business in Smart.
