SNP accuses Defense Secretary of “smear campaign” for in-flight drinking allegations

Defense Secretary Ben Wallace is quick to complain to Labor Party and SNP leaders after claiming that three of their respective MPs were “drinking heavily” on their way to an official visit to Gibraltar.

The minister argues that Charlotte Nichols, a Labor MP, and SNP MPs David Linden and Drew Hendry showed “disrespect for the enduring work of our military” and risked “undermining respect for Parliament” after drinking heavily on a flight that transported MPs, civil servants and citizens to Gibraltar on Tuesday.

Linden and Hendry were reportedly “messy” and “rude”, while it is assumed that Ms. Nichols needed a wheelchair to travel from baggage claim to a military minibus.

The two SNP MPs accused Wallace of a “bizarre smear campaign by the Tories” on the charges.
