Tutorships it is a fundamental part of health research. But many research institutions around the world, especially in low- and middle-income countries, lack specific tools to improve mentoring. Additionally, Covid-19 has radically changed the mentoring environment, changing the nature of collaboration, supervision, and mentoring in research.
Mentoring is a cross-cutting theme at the heart of TDR Global’s activities. The purpose of the TDR 2021 Global Mentor Contest will be to identify practical ideas, tools, resources and support related to research mentoring during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
There will be two stages in 2021 TDR Global Mentorship Open Call. Stage;
Stage 1: Regional Mentor Contest. Three regional open call tutoring competitions will be launched in Latin America, Africa and Asia.
Stage 2: Global Mentoring Contest. The finalists from three regions will go to the final global launch in September / October 2021.
Shipping guidelines are outlined below.
TDR Global, TDR nodes in Africa, Latin America, Asia and SESH are the main organizers of the open call.
All TDR Global members are eligible.

Entries should focus on practical tools, resources, and support related to institutional research or mentoring through online platforms, face-to-face meetings, or another method.

Criterion of judging
Submissions will be evaluated on a scale of 1 to 10 according to the following four criteria:

TDR Global Member Voting
We invite all TDR Global members to vote for the best tutoring idea from August 16-21, 2021. The name and country of the submitter will not be displayed. We will send the link to vote on August 16, 2021.
Participants compete for prices that include cash and mentoring processes to help develop and implement those ideas. Ideas will be judged by a jury of professionals and TDR Global members will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite ideas. The finalist will have a chance to win the global prize.
