2021 is still the Shohei season.
On Friday, Ohtani smashed two more home runs, giving him 30 at the mathematical midpoint, becoming the third major league player to accomplish the feat. The 2021 MLB All-Star Game is less than two weeks away, and Ohtani will be in attendance for all of those festivities as he was named a starter for the American League team and also chose to participate in the Home Run Derby. Angels manager Joe Maddon hopes to see Ohtani do double duty in the All-Star Game, and with good reason.
