The Black Panther sequel stops production following Letitia Wright’s injury

Active production Black Panther: Wakanda forever will take a break, starting with Thanksgiving week, until “early 2022,” according to the Hollywood reporter. One of the stars of the film, Letitia Wright, is still recovering from an injury he sustained while filming in Boston this August.

She was convalescing in London while she was a director Ryan Coogler and the rest of the team continued production at Marvel’s Atlanta headquarters. THR he writes that now “they have shot all the footage that his crew can do without Wright.”

At the time, the injury related to Wright’s stunt what did he believe? having been a minor. His hospitalization was brief and representatives said the incident would “have no impact on the film’s current production schedule.” Since then, however, the release date of the anticipated sequel has changed from July 8, 2022 to November 11, 2022.

After the death of Chadwick Boseman last year, the head of Marvel Kevin Feige announced that they would not reformulate her role as T’Challa and instead focus on other characters introduced in the first film. While the new film’s plot has been heavily guarded, Wright’s successful role of Shuri, T’Challa’s younger sister, is believed to feature prominently.

Late last year, Wright caused some controversy when he shared a video on Twitter from Tomi Arayomi who offered skepticism about the coronavirus vaccine and also comments on some believed to be transphobic. (His co-star Marvel Don Cheadle tweeted that the video was “hot junk.”) All of these tweets have since been deleted. More recently, Wright allegations denied reported in THR who shared views against vaccines while on set.
