The Damus app leaves the App Store – News Block

The Damus decentralized social networking app has been removed from the App Store due to in-app purchase violations.

Apple recently warned Damus that he violated guidelines for in-app purchases with the Bitcoin tipping option called ‘zap’, saying the company has two weeks to remove the feature. Damus tried to clarify that the tipping system does not unlock in-app content, which did not satisfy Apple. Apparently, the Cupertino-based company doesn’t want in-app purchases, especially Bitcoin, to be made without your knowledge.

The Damus app will be removed from the Apple platform starting June 27. Damus tweeted that they will file an appeal of the decision made by the Cupertino-based company. The two have clashed before when the ‘zap’ feature caused red flags during the app’s review. The app bills itself as a decentralized social platform and works similar to Twitter. App Store users will no longer see Damus on June 27.
