New York Islanders head coach Barry Pes was understandably frustrated after a botched call from too many men led the Tampa Bay Lightning to score a goal lead during Game 2 Tuesday at Amalie Arena.
Ondrej Palat scored the lead goal in the second period to give the Bolts a 2-1 lead, but replay showed Tampa Bay had additional players on the ice at the time.
“The second goal hurt a lot,” Pese said at the end of the game, according to ESPN’s Greg Wyshynski. “Obviously you know there were too many men on the ice. They had seven men.”
