With rising temperatures, it becomes extremely important to make some seasonal changes to your diet and exercise routine to keep the summer heat at bay. While there are many ways to do this (consuming fluids and eating light foods), you can also go for the appropriate herbal remedies. Ayurvedic practitioner Niti Sheth He recently suggested some benefits of regulating digestive fire during the summer months by consuming certain detox drinks.
According to the doctor, one needs to “cleanse” according to their body type, but added that Ayurvedic detoxes “are not quick fixes” aimed at helping you lose weight. “They go much further to produce other benefits as well,” he wrote on Instagram.
These are the benefits of such detox drinks, according to Sheth.
* Help restore your digestion or agni (deepana)
* They help to get rid of unwanted and accumulated toxicity in the body, and this brings many side benefits such as increased energy, mental clarity and weight loss.
* They help balance and recalibrate your body at all of its different tissue levels.
Sheth shared a simple Agni tea recipe from Dr. Vasant Lad of the Ayurvedic Institute to restore the body’s digestive forces.
1l – water
1 pinch of cayenne pepper
½ -1 inch ginger root (chopped or chopped)
1-2 teaspoons – rock salt
2 tablespoons – Jaggery / maple syrup
Let all the above ingredients boil for 20 minutes.
Remove from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Once this is done, squeeze the juice from two limes (do not boil the lime juice).
Pour the tea into a thermos to keep it warm and sip throughout the day.
