Tingler’s comments come after Tatis tweeted early Sunday morning that she hoped everyone was safe. The All-Star shortstop also expressed appreciation for law enforcement officers.
At least three people were injured in the shooting outside Nationals Park. The remainder of Saturday’s game will be played on Sunday before a regularly scheduled competition between the Nationals and the Padres.
