Apple TV + still only has several dozen titles that encompass the entire first-party streaming library. But there are now more Apple original movies with Tom Hanks available to stream on the service, with the new Hanks movie finch just added friday.
The precedent led by Hanks Apple TV + the title is the WWII action thriller Greyhound, in which Hanks plays a naval officer charged with protecting a merchant convoy from Nazi submarines. There is a claustrophobic intensity that pervades the entire film. This is because the viewer essentially stays by Hanks’ side for nearly the entire film, on the ship he commands. Overall, it was a solid addition to the Apple TV + content library. Also for the iPhone maker’s streaming service, meanwhile, Hanks is working with Steven Spielberg on Masters of the air. It’s sort of a sequel to Band of brothers, a WWII miniseries that I think is one of the best things HBO has ever produced.
