The transfer season always creates a stir in the football community. Fans get excited about the great players chasing their favorite clubs and are ultimately disappointed when the move fails. There are hundreds of different transfer rumors, but only a few of them really mean anything.
The hiring of star players is often compared, as often their parent club is adamant about not selling the player due to certain circumstances. FootTheBall brings you ‘Rumor Rater’, where we rate the top 5 transfer rumors that have spread like wildfire on social media.
Manchester City have yet to be active in the transfer market as they are determined to bring Jack Grealish and Harry Kane to the Etihad this summer. Jack Grealish has become a cult hero in England and arguably one of the best players in the Premier League.
Aston Villa was looking for a place in the Europa League last season and probably would have made it if it weren’t for Grealish’s unexpected injury in February, due to which he missed 12 games. Grealish is very versatile, which means it can easily fit into Guardiola’s system. Manchester City have yet to find a replacement for Leroy Sane and that is why Grealish is a really important target for Pep Guardiola.
Jack Grealish himself has yet to say anything about leaving his childhood club, although a move to Manchester City could unlock Grealish’s true potential. The only problem in City’s way is that Aston Villa has enough money to pursue their goals this summer and that is why they are reluctant to let the player go. Grealish also has four more years left on his contract, making this move very difficult for Manchester City.
According to many reports, City have offered the 25-year-old a very generous contract and Grealish is happy with the deadline. It’s just that Grealish wants to keep good terms with Villa and therefore won’t make any decisions until his club has accepted the transfer.

Manchester United conceded the most goals among the top four teams in the Premier League. A weak defense can cost them their title chances, so they need a strong center back.
Raphael Varane has been with Real Madrid for more than a decade and it is time for both the club and the player to move on. The 28-year-old is still at the top of his game and his pace and ball technique are perfect for United to form a partnership with Harry Maguire at the rear.
There is only one year left on Varane’s contract and it seems that he will not extend his stay at Madrid. The French player should cost around € 60-70 million, which shouldn’t be a problem for Manchester United. Although, if Manchester United delay the move, Varane will start to doubt it and would probably sign an extension with Los Blancos.

ERLING HAALAND TO CHELSEA
Erling Haaland has been linked to many clubs across Europe, but as of now, Chelsea looks like his most likely fate, only if Dortmund let the 21-year-old go. With 27 goals to his credit, Haaland was the second top scorer in the Bundesliga last season.
Since Jadon Sacho moved to Manchester United, Dortmund already let go of a star and they wouldn’t let Haaland go so easily. The player has only played 1 year with Dortmund and therefore has 3 more seasons left on his contract. Dortmund can easily wait another year and still receive good offers for the Norwegian.
Chelsea are reportedly preparing a massive € 130 million offer that could attract Dortmund, although Chelsea are not the only club in the running as Real Madrid are also ready to bet on Haaland. Right now, Madrid are in a financial bind, so they won’t be able to beat the London-based club. Now is the only chance for Chelsea to take over Haaland without competition, but Dortmund are hesitant to let the player go.

Pogba signed a 1-year extension last year that keeps him with the Red Devils until the end of this season. It is clear that Pogba is restless at Manchester United and wants to find a way out. Mino Raiola, his agent, is also on bad terms with United and is trying to find the best deals for Pogba’s departure. The Frenchman was phenomenal at Euro 2020, which has sparked a lot of interest across Europe.
The PSG has decided to bet with everything this month, since it seems that Pochetinno is shopping. The French Giants have recently shown interest in the central midfielder, but with Juventus already in the race for the past 2 years, Pogba would rather return to Italy. PSG supporters have shown their resentment towards Paul Pogba by hanging large signs that read “Pogba, you should listen to your mother. She doesn’t want you here, neither do we. “
PSG fans put up this banner outside the Parc des Princes in response to the Pogba rumors, and it reads:
“Pogba, you should listen to your mother, she doesn’t want you here. Us neither! “

PSG will have to pay around 50-60 million for Pogba, but after seeing the reaction from the fans, Paul Pogba will likely stay away from France for a while.

MANUEL LOCATELLI AL ARSENAL
With Juventus on the verge of closing the deal with Sassuolo, Arsenal are not even close to landing Locatelli in the Premier League. Locatelli has had a fruitful season last year. He had a passing accuracy of 87.5% and made 8.24 progressive passes an average of every 90. He has great defensive prowess and can also start from the center half of the field.
Arsenal will undergo a transfer review this summer, but Arteta did not target Locatelli. Juventus and Sassuolo reportedly agreed to a 2-year loan with a purchase option at the end of the term. The 23-year-old would also rather play in Italy and grow more as a player before making big changes to his career. Arsenal could have had a chance if they had started the talks a little earlier because now the chances of the Italian joining the gunners are very slim.
