After too long a week, a little reality is a must.
In his almost humiliating defeat, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy’s margin seems to be from 50.9% to 48.3% on Jack Ciattarelli. In Virginia, the margin of Glenn Youngkin’s triumph appears to be 50.8% to 48.5% compared to Terry McAuliffe.
We can add to this that Murphy is the first Democratic governor of New Jersey to be re-elected in 44 years. Meanwhile, going back 48 years, the party that does not hold the presidency has won the Virginia race all but once. It was then that Terry McAuliffe won in 2013.
