Hoo-boy, Little Choad Fauntleroy was in weird shape on Tuesday.
From the July 5 issue of Tucker packs your auntthe stain:
CARLSON: “Would you sell that guy a gun? Does he look crazy? Of course yes. So why didn’t anyone raise the alarm? Good?
Maybe because it didn’t stand out. Maybe because there are so many young people in America who suddenly look and act like this guy. It’s not an attack, it’s just truth. I like it [Highland Park shooting suspect Robert] Crimo, inhabit a lonely fantasy world of social media, porn, and video games.
They’re high on government-backed weed. Smoke a little more, it’s good for you. They are numbed by the endless psychotropic drugs that are doled out in every school in the country by crackpots posing as counselors.
And of course they are angry. They know that their life will not be better than that of their parents; they will be worse. That is almost guaranteed. They know that. They are not so stupid.
And yet the authorities in their lives, mostly women, never [stop] lecturing them about their supposed privilege. ‘You are a man; you are privileged. Imagine that. Try to imagine a life less healthy and unhappy than that. So a lot of young people in America are going crazy. Are you surprised?”
Really Tuki? Is that what you’re going to use as fuel for mass shootings? Grass and women?
Listen, you fucking frozen fish stick. Other countries have marijuana and “woke up” women, as well as social media and video games, and have not become death camps. (Though they do tend to have stricter gun control laws and social safety nets, clue, clue.)
I’ve debunked this false weed connection before—like, a month ago—but this “sounding” assessment from a 2017 University of Washington study bears repeating:
The results indicate that the legalization of marijuana, both recreational and medical, does not increase rates of violent crime. Conversely, marijuana legalization could lead to a decrease in violent crimes such as homicide, robbery, and aggravated assault.
Fox News’ daily talking points for Tuesday appear to have been crafted specifically to use cannabis as a scapegoat for gun violence. Laura Ingraham also went out of her way to smear God’s perfect creation.
So, of course, Tucker couldn’t help criticizing women and liberals for pointing out that historically oppressed people endured countless centuries of brutal white male domination even before industrial grade nut lamps unleashed a new tsunami of testosterone on our feminized shores. But hey, we had a black president that time, and our vice president is a black woman, so I guess historically oppressed groups are totally caught up now, huh?
Now, Occam’s razor still applies. Is it possible that selling AR-15s to young people is a little more dangerous than selling them video games? Or that maybe, just maybe, white men are angry that Carlson and his buddies keep conjuring up ghosts to make them angry? maybe tackle wealth inequality— a notion that is raising hives on Fox News and the GOP — would go a long way toward calming the nerves of a generation that feels increasingly left behind.
On the other hand, the folks at Fox News aren’t looking for real solutions They are simply exploiting people’s already existing fears and prejudices for cash. It is not that Unlike chasing a herd of gazelles in a net and then shooting them all in the head.
Somehow, though, it seems even less honest.
