Ukraine Needs Expeditionary Economy, Not USAID

Ukraine will not only have to reclaim its sovereignty when its war with Russia ends, it will also need to rebuild its economy. that’s why president Volodymyr Zelensky he is already appealing to US and global investors to commit capital to restore his country’s postwar economy. In a September op-ed for the Journal, he highlighted Ukraine’s past industrial and scientific success, praised the country’s particularly well-skilled STEM workforce, and identified $400 billion in opportunities for outside investors.

That’s all good news. The bad news? The US government may no longer have the skills to help Ukraine effectively develop its economy.
