But Madonna’s health scare reportedly turned out to be even scarier than we first thought. A report came out online radar this week that the pop icon had to be revived with narcane! For those who don’t know, Narcan or Naloxone is usually used in an emergency to save someone who is overdosing on drugs. But does this mean that Madonna really overdosed? Not necessarily. you see, the National Institute on Drug AbuseThe website for says that it can supposedly be used to reverse acute septic shock. Madonna reportedly went into septic shock as a result of the infection. As Pfizerone manufacturer of naloxone even states on its website:
“Naloxone in some cases of septic shock has been shown to cause an increase in blood pressure that can last up to several hours; however, this pressor response has not been shown to improve patient survival.”
The site continued:
“In some studies, naloxone treatment in septic shock has been associated with adverse effects, including agitation, nausea and vomiting, pulmonary edema, hypotension, cardiac arrhythmias, and seizures. The decision to use naloxone in septic shock should be made with caution, particularly in patients who may have underlying pain or who have previously received opioid therapy and may have developed opioid tolerance. Due to the limited number of patients who have been treated, optimal doses and treatment regimens have not been established.
online radar He also noted that nothing points to Madonna needing Narcan due to drug use or an overdose. However, many doctors and medical professionals don’t think so! They have intervened in the situation and insisted that Narcan does not normally treat septic shock. See some of the reactions (below):
It’s very, very depressing when I see someone who has a ruptured brain aneurysm who’s been on 30 mg of naloxone and now most likely not even getting minimal relief from their own endogenous opioids. Or someone with asthma. Or Madonna with septic shock. These are painful.

We have many medications that can literally directly increase blood pressure. Naloxone would only do this indirectly in septic shock, by making the person in septic shock experience so much discomfort that they release adrenergic chemicals (such as adrenaline) because they are in pain.

I have no idea what happened to Madonna, but naloxone doesn’t become some magic blood pressure medication when given to celebrities.

So now, this begs the question: What really happened to Madonna? You were injected with Narcan, and not for septic shock? Did her manager make up a story to cover her alleged drug use? He is not unusual in the entertainment industry! Or did you never actually inject yourself with the medicine, which means RadarWas the story false? Who knows! But as we mentioned, the experts seem very skeptical about the outlet’s report!
No doubt everyone has questions about what’s going on! At the time of Narcan’s report, the outlet noted that “a Madonna spokesperson did not comment.” So her team seems to be keeping tight-lipped on the matter, at least for now. However, at the end of the day, we wish Madonna the best as she continues to recover. Thoughts, lazy readers? Are you buying the Radar report? Let us know in the comments below.
