The instant messaging application WhatsApp has been continuously bringing new features to the platform. One of the new features that will come to the service owned by Facebook is the speed of reproduction of voice messages. The feature was previously spotted in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android devices and is now available for beta users on iOS as well.
According to a new report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp version 126.96.36.199 brings three different playback speeds for voice memos. While the feature is not publicly ready yet, the report shows a glimpse of the feature that might be available in a future release.
In addition to the standard 1.0x playback speed, users will also get a 1.5x playback speed and a 2.0x playback speed. These speeds will play your voice memos at 50% and 100% faster speeds for when you’re in a rush.
The new feature will be easy to use. The new playback speed setting will be conveniently located directly in the voice memo chat. So users won’t have to dig into settings to change playback speeds every time. Check out the tweet below.
Yesterday @WABetaInfo has announced that @WhatsApp I was working on 3 different playback speeds for voice messages, on WhatsApp for Android.
Today the same screenshots are taken from WhatsApp for iOS.
The function is in development.
