It’s almost confirmed that, at some point, we will get a live version of Grand Admiral Thrawn at the star Wars galaxy. Probably on the small screen, thanks to an ever-important name we got The mandalorian Season 2. For years, fans have considered Benedict Cumberbatch the perfect actor to bring the beloved villain to life. Now, Cumberbatch has weighed whether that would be something he is interested in doing or not.
Benedict Cumberbatch is currently promoting his latest movie The courier service. During a recent interview, he was asked about the possibility of touching the star Wars character, provided the opportunity. Cumberbatch, it is true, did not know to whom Thrawn was saying, “Grand Admiral Thrawn? Does he become Peter Cushing or something? Is that …?” Once it was explained that he is a blue-skinned villain, Cumberbatch had the following to say.
“That is a resounding no from me, right now. There is no way I want to go blue. I changed the air blue, very recently. No, no, seriously, I have precious time with my children and I think being sitting in a makeup chair and being painted blue, and the amount of time it would take to do that and then take it off at the end of the day could just … not the right time in my life for that. “
So there we have it. Joking aside, Benedict Cumberbatch simply has no interest in playing Thrawn. At least not right now. Cumberbatch is a busy man. He still plays Stephen Strange in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Insanity filming right now. He also has other movies on the way, including The power of the dog other The Electric Life of Louis Wain. Y star Wars it would be a great compromise.
Whoever it is, someone will be cast to play Thrawn, perhaps sooner rather than later. Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano said the character’s name in a key episode of The mandalorian, indicating that Thrawn is still around following the events of the Rebels end of the series. Since several spin-offs taking place on the same timeline as The mandalorian, It seems Ahsoka other Boba’s book in boldThey’re on their way, it’s only a matter of time before the Grand Admiral shows up. Whether in The mandalorian season 3 or somewhere else remains to be seen.
Grand Admiral Thrawn was created by author Timothy Zahn in the Heir to the Empire a trilogy of novels that originally premiered in the 1990s. The animated series Rebels brought the brilliant strategist, a member of the alien race known as the Chiss, into today’s canon. He is one of the most popular characters of all star Wars which has yet to appear in live action. That is about to change. Unfortunately for those who had this fan casting in store on their mind, Disney and Lucasfilm will have to look elsewhere. This news comes to us through Collider.
