Australia suffered a resounding five-wicket defeat to Pakistan in the second semi-final of the tournament to reserve their place in the 2021 T20 World Cup final. Matthew Wade beat an unbeaten 41 of 17 balls, while Marcus Stoinis scored a 31 balls 40 to lead their team to the final of the T20 WC.

After winning the draw, Australia chose to pitch first, but Mohammad Rizwan (67), Fakhar Zaman (55 *) and Babar (39) led the charge of Pakistan and helped their team reach 176 / 4.
