Apple TV+ is known for its award-winning original movies and shows, and some great new movies and TV shows will arrive on the platform in May 2024. Apple TV+ positioned itself as an alternative to services like Netflix by offering exclusive original content not found elsewhere. Unlike other streaming services, the Apple TV+ catalog remains mostly constant, typically only adding original content to the service and rarely adding licensed material, keeping it unique among streaming options. May sees the service adding more originals with titles like the first season of Dark Matterthe documentary Hollywood Con Queenand Trying season 4.

In April, Apple TV+ removed the rest of the popular licensed movies that it had previously added as a limited engagement. These additions were unusual because AppleTV+ has very few licensed movies and TV shows, and in May, Apple TV+ is going back to its roots of producing original content. The biggest April 2024 releases are still available, including. the Apple TV+ original seriesPalm Royale, which is also adding more new episodes weekly through May 8.
